We’ve been hard at work rehearsing for our concert on Sunday, April 28th. Carmina Burana is a well known work that is headlining the concert. It’s been an interesting piece to rehearse as it’s extremely lyrical and expressive with near constant tempo changes and rubato sections! It demands virtuoso performances from all sections of the ensemble!
Have a listen to the short Tanz movement recorded during a recent rehearsal. Tanz is the German word for dance and this rhythmic piece certainly makes you want to move although the alternating 4/4 and 3/8 time signatures call for advanced level dancing skills!
